By using Folder Permission, you allow third parties to access one of your folders on Seafile.
In order to share a folder to a person or a group, move the mouse on the name of the Library which contains that folder. Click on the triangle button More Operations (1) and select Folder Permission (2) from the menu.
Choose the tab User Permission to share the folder to a single person or Group Permission if access should be provided to several users. Notice that in the latter case, all e-mail addresses have to be saved in a group.
Now, enter the name or e-mail address of the person into the User box or the name of the group into the Group box, respectively. Notice that folders can only be shared to people which are studying or working in a college or an university in Rhineland-Palatinate or to people which were invited to join Seafile.
Press the + - button in the Folder box and select the folder for sharing.
Finally, specify Permission. There, the person or group gets only read access for documents in the folder when Permission is set to Read-Only. When Read-Write is enabled, editing is allowed too.
Click on Submit to complete. A new entry is now displayed in the list below the insert boxes.
By moving the mouse on one line of that list, there will appear a pencil and a trash icon. The pencil icon is used to change permissions from Read-Only to Read-Write or conversely.
By clicking on the trash icon, the permission is disabled. Thus, the person or group can no longer access the folder.
